A balm, not an oil.
Most cuticle oils only lock in the moisture that is already there, which is why dry skin around the nail often feels no better in week two than it did in week one. The Fyle balm hydrates and seals in one step, so the skin stays soft rather than sitting under a layer of oil.
It is the last step of the File Manicure, massaged in once you have filed and buffed. It also works on its own through the day, whenever your hands have had soap, weather or washing up.
Fragrance free, which is why it comes up so often in reviews from people with sensitive or allergy-prone skin. Made in Yorkshire, 5 ml, small enough for a coat pocket.
Ingredients
Coconut oil, olive oil, candelilla wax, sunflower seed oil and vitamin E. Nothing else, and no fragrance.
Cocos Nucifera Oil, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Candelilla Cera, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Tocopherol.
How to use
- After filing – a small amount massaged into the cuticle and the side walls.
- Any time – whenever your hands have been in water or out in the cold.
- With the Shiner – for maximum shine, buff first and apply the Balm on top. For deeper nourishment, apply the Balm first and buff gently afterwards.
FAQ
Isn't this just cuticle oil?
No. Oil sits on top and locks in whatever moisture is already in the skin, so on dry skin it can hold the dryness in. This balm puts moisture in and seals it, which is why customers who have used oils for years tell us it behaves differently.
Will it fix dry, flaky cuticles on its own?
It will make them softer and look better. The flaking itself usually comes from how the cuticle is being cut or removed, so the balm seals a good result rather than replacing one. That is what the Kit is for.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
It is fragrance free with five plant ingredients, which is why customers with sensitive or allergy-prone skin choose it. Check the ingredient list if you have a known allergy.
