Great nails start with the skin around them.
So often cuticles don't quite look right: ragged a week after a manicure, dry and flaky, hangnails you end up picking, skin that comes back thicker every time it is cut. It isn't your nails, it isn't neglect, and no amount of cuticle oil will fix it. The problem is the method. Cutting cuticle away is a wound, and skin answers a wound by growing back tougher and sooner.
Fyle is a modern technique that replaces the quick trim with a healthy, long-term solution. Instead of cutting, you carefully file away the dead skin and leave the living edge alone, so nothing grows back in defence. The cuticle line comes out clean and even, and because nothing was cut, it stays that way.
No blades, no soaking, no machine, nothing to dry. Do it when it suits you, in stages if you like. It works under any polish or gel exactly as it does on bare nails, and whatever you put on top looks properly finished.
Most of us just want our hands to look neat and cared for, every day, without giving them a second thought. Fyle is the simplest way to keep them that way.

What's inside
- The Core – a strong, flexible handle with a straight and a curved edge, for control on every finger.
- 3 Filing Strips – fine grit pressed from coastal quartz sand, which lifts away only dead skin.
- 3 Buff Pads – ultra-fine finishers that smooth the edge as the final step.
- Cuticle Pusher – a bevelled wooden tip that eases the cuticle back without splitting or tugging.
- Cuticle Sealing Balm – coconut, olive and sunflower oils set with candelilla wax and vitamin E, to hydrate and seal. Fragrance free.
- Step-by-step video tutorial
The Complete Kit also includes:
- The Shiner – gives the nail a natural gloss that lasts around two weeks, and doubles as a final pass over the cuticle. Light, even strokes, and a little goes a long way.
How it works
- Prep – ease the cuticle back with the wooden pusher.
- File – long, light strokes with the Strip take off only what is already dead.
- Buff – two or three passes to smooth the edge.
- Seal – a little Balm massaged in. With the Complete Kit, a few strokes of the Shiner give the nail its gloss.
FAQ
Does it hurt?
It shouldn't. The file only works on dead skin, so there is nothing to nick. If it ever stings, you're pressing too hard — ease off, or send us a photo and we'll walk you through it.
How long does it take?
It depends on your hands and how overgrown things are. The first manicure takes a while with the video open; once you know the strokes, most people are done in minutes.
How long does a kit last?
Up to ten weeks. At home each Strip and Buff can be used several times; they're single-use only in a salon.
Can I buy refills instead of a whole kit?
Buffers are available on their own now. File refills are coming; subscribers will get them first.
Does it work with polish or gel?
Yes. Fyle is the prep. It makes whatever goes on top sit better and last longer, and it's just as good with nothing on top at all.
What's the difference between The Kit and The Complete Kit?
The Shiner. It gives the nail itself a natural gloss that lasts around two weeks, so bare nails look finished without polish. Most people choose the Complete Kit.
My cuticles are very overgrown. Will it cope?
Yes, gradually. Work in stages rather than clearing everything in one go, and expect the real change at four to six weeks, when the cuticle stops thickening.
What if it isn't working for me?
Send us a photo. It's usually a pressure or angle thing, and we'll walk you through it.
